Creative Curriculum
Age 2-4
Creative Movement
This program uses games, imaginative props, and expressive music to introduce our youngest students to styles of movement. We focus on building confidence, listening and friendship skills, rhythm, and the beginning techniques of dance movement.
Ages 5-9
Ballet/Tap or Ballet/Jazz
This program uses games, imaginative props, and expressive music to introduce our youngest students to styles of movement. We focus on building confidence, listening and friendship skills, and the beginning techniques of tap, jazz and ballet. Students will learn a dance piece and perform in SPAA's annual Holiday Celebration and Season Showcase.
Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Curriculum
Ages 10-17
Tap * Jazz * Ballet * Pointe * Lyrical * Modern
This program uses techniques at the barre, across the floor, and center floor to build strength, flexibility, control, alignment and expression. We focus on inspiring confidence, self discipline, and personal excellence. Students will learn a dance piece and perform in SPAA's annual Holiday Celebration and Season Showcase.
Company Curriculum
Ages 6 - 17
Tap * Jazz * Ballet * Pointe * Lyrical * Modern * Partnering
This program is specifically designed for those students who dedicate themselves to studying multiple times per week. Company students have an unparalleled upbringing in this program, focused on developing well rounded, self confident, independent young artists.
Progressive repetition is necessary for the dancer to significantly increase flexibility, stamina, technique and versatility.

Music Department Curriculum
Private Voice Lessons
Ages 8-17
This program gives the young training vocalist individual attention to build confidence and stage presence. Students practice supportive breathing and develop pitch, range, and projection. They learn to read music notation with attention to diction and song interpretation. Students will present a piece in Swedesboro Performing Arts Academy's annual Holiday Celebration and Season Showcase.
Private Instrument Lessons
Ages 4-7
Piano and Singing
In this program, young students are introduced to musical concepts with multi-sensory games, singing, and rhythm instruments. Students learn the beginning techniques of playing the piano or singing, and will present a piece in SPAA's annual Holiday Celebration and Season Showcase.
Ages 7-17
Piano * Guitar * Violin * Cello * Bass * Flute * Clarinet * Saxophone
Trumpet * Trombone * French horn * Drums
Private lessons focus on self-expression and creativity, while building and strengthening the skills necessary to play the instrument. Parent involvement in organizing at-home practice is fostered and encouraged. Students will present a piece in SPAA's annual Holiday Celebration and Season Showcase.
Songwriting and Studio Composition
Ages 7 and Up
SPAA's Songwriting Lessons cover all aspects of songwriting, from creation to completion. Students learn how to write & record their own track. Their song is then published professionally, including online/media exposure, and featured at SPAA's annual Holiday Celebration and Season Showcase
Theatre Department Curriculum

We focus on building confidence, listening and friendship skills, and the beginning techniques of acting, voice/speech and stage movement. Students will create theatre pieces and perform in SPAA's annual Holiday Celebration and Season Showcase.
Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Curriculum
Ages 8-17
This program uses theatre games to inspire confidence, teamwork, and strong communication skills. Students learn exercises to develop skills in acting, voice/speech and stage movement. We work with text, learning public speaking skills, and develop monologues. We explore script analysis and scene study. Students discover the actor's entire process including the audition, preparation for a role, and taking it to the stage. Actors from this program will generate a performance piece and present their work in SPAA's annual Holiday Celebration and Season Showcase.
Company Curriculum
Ages 8-17
This program is specifically designed for those students who dedicate themselves to Performance, and study multiple disciplines within the performing arts. Company students train in Dance, Music, and Theatre. They have an unparalleled upbringing in this program, focused on developing well rounded, self confident, independent young artists. Students learn to put all their skills together as "Triple Threat" performers.
